WHO IS AMRITA WATERFALLS?
My name is Cassendre Xavier, and I’m a multi-media artist – musician, multi-genre author, actress, and visual artist. I’m also a community cultural arts advocate, founder and director of several Philadelphia based events. I work under the names Cassendre Xavier (music and writing), Amethyste Rah (spiritual – I’ve recorded spoken word guided meditation healing albums under this name) and Amrita Waterfalls (sexuality). "Amrita" is Sanskrit for nectar or ambrosia. It is a term commonly used among Tantric and Taoist as well as other advanced sexual practitioners. Many of you in the know what this term means. PERMISSION TO BE SEXY
For a very long time, I thought I was too heavy to express myself even onstage while performing music as I wished to. I wanted to wear corsets and be free to be sexy on stage, but I didn’t feel brave enough to express this side of me, even though I’ve done this once, and I was heavier when I did it – it was one of my best performances ever. Recently, I’ve had more opportunities to face this fear, partly because of weight loss, but mostly because of increased self-esteem, because in fact it wasn’t my size that limited me, but my self-esteem issues about my shape. I’ve accepted my shape now, and it doesn’t matter what my weight is. Other issues have come into play, and I’ll share about those as time goes on. I’ve learned, though, that self-esteem is the number one factor in sexual and sensual appeal – confidence is indeed the best cosmetic for anyone’s appearance, regardless of age, shape, or gender.

LEARNING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL GIRL
I’ve always known how to take a compliment, as a regular person, or when I was not ready to be more appealing physically – you just say thank you and you smile. But lately, as I’ve been becoming more conventionally attractive, and I’m sorry, I don’t know how to say that without sounding immodest, but I’ve learned I don’t know how to respond to certain compliments the way I should. For example, there are instances in which the appropriate response is NOT to say “Thank You”. I’ve journaled about this and may share this as I remember to. Meanwhile, I’m learning to smile demurely, as I observe others do. If I’m walking by a group of men, and someone says something to me, about being “fine” or whatever, I won’t say, “Thank you,” I’ll just smile. I said, “Thank you” once, and it just fell flat, like a heavy stone on my foot. Awkward. So strange these social rituals!

POLY LIVING CONFERENCE
I attended, worked, had a great time, and made more than a few heart connections at the 7th Annual Poly Living Conference in Philadelphia this year Friday, February 10 thru Sunday February 12, 2012. I'm starting to feel like huge parts of my everyday life are totally unnatural. I don't think I'm supposed to be walking around a city wearing clothes all day long. I think I'm supposed to live in a temple, pleasured regularly in the manner and by the men of my choosing, training them and channeling all energies into great projects. Well, not to start on a downer, but some of you may or may not know that I’m first generation American born of Haitian & Chinese descent. Unless you live in a very, very sexy cave :-), you know that Haiti recently withstood a 7 point earthquake and at least 100,000 people have died. This is the first earthquake the country has had in over 200 years, and according to scientists, there’s more to come in the earthquake department.
Why am I mentioning this in a newsletter that’s focusing on sexual pleasure, health, freedom, and expression? Because my work is about the joy and pleasure of life, and at no time has it become more important to me to celebrate my life and every aspect of it than now.
My immediate family and I have 3 relatives in Haiti who we know have lost their lives. I’m also aware there are likely to be many more we don’t know about and that even if we are the luckiest people in the world, I still feel compassion for the over 3,000,000 who have been affected and for every Haitian in the diaspora.
I have always celebrated life and tried to make my work as inspiring as possible.
Tonight I am featuring my music and writing at Susana’s famed Erotic Literary Salon. Susana is donating a portion of the ticket sales, and I am donating 10% of my product sales to the American Red Cross’s Haiti relief efforts.
Weeks ago, I had planned to release my latest book Erotica: a Liberation [Explicit], (Writing, photographs, & drawings by Cassendre Xavier writing as AmritaWaterfalls), but between the stress of the earthquake, the need to be with my family, and the fact that I’m moving next week, I decided to postpone the book release.

Welcome to another edition of the Dodson & Ross / With Pleasure double newsletter – available only through the official Betty Dodson/Carlin Ross Facebook Group, created and moderated by myself with the blessing and supervision of Carlin Ross.
It’s a warm and sunny day here in Philadelphia, PA, USA, and I have missed about a week’s work at my office because of our public transportation strike.
Rather than wait until I can write “perfect newsletter”, I thought I’d just check in with a short and sweet reminder that I’m here, I know you’re here, and I’m thinking of you all!

I am so thrilled to report that the Dodson & Ross Facebook group (http://tinyurl.com/dodsonandrossFacebookGroup) is now at 216 members and is still growing at a quick pace. Completely free of charge and pop-ups, this is a site which features current and vintage erotic videos from around the world – professionally produced as well as amateur. Virtually any fantasy you have that involves consenting adults can be found here. Having been reared in this Puritanical country by strict Christian parents from the homophobic West Indies, it is challenging at times for me to let go of preconceived notions and try to enjoy what I enjoy and not have any guilt or shame about it. X Hamster gives me an opportunity to do that work, as well as decided for myself what I find acceptable and also what my spiritual values are. How about you? Do you have any original ideas about what’s acceptable or not? Is masturbation acceptable? Interracial sex? Homosexual sex? Multiple partners? Did you know there’s a whole moment to end circumcision? Thanks to Joel Smart (D & R FB Group member) who sent in this:
“No medical organization recommends infant circumcision on medical grounds. The American Academy of Pediatrics says that the "potential" medical benefits do not outweigh the risks of the surgery itself. What the AAP doesn't mention is that beyond those risks is all the necessary losses that accompany each and every circumcision. For example, the foreskin contains thousands upon thousands of highly specialized fine-touch nerve endings (like those found in the fingertips and lips). In fact the foreskin contains almost ALL of the fine-touch nerve endings of the entire penis, so it actually provides a man with unique sensations that are irreplaceable. The foreskin also protects the head of the penis, not just from abrasion, but from drying out, and from extreme heat or cold. It also protects the urethral opening from scarring (1 in 10 circumcised men develop this, but unheard of in men who are intact) and from foreign particles such as when swimming in a dirty lake or pool - which even partly explains the phenomenon of a penis shrinking when in cold water, to allow the foreskin to protect the urethral opening even further in a situation where it becomes very vulnerable. The mobility of the foreskin improves sexual function. These reasons constitute the main reasons why I feel the foreskin counts as valuable tissue.

Circumcision is also highly painful.. and seemingly teaches children from a young age to associate the genitals with pain. A wound healing in a dirty diaper also seems very painful to me. It is also permanent, meaning that if a child grows up and feels circumcision is not right for him, there is no way to get that part of his penis back again. I do not believe parents have the right to remove any healthy, valuable tissue from their children. Parents have many rights and obligations, but it does not make sense for this to be an issue parents can choose for their children - not when most of the world gets by perfectly fine without having it done. If you can teach a girl to clean her vulva (which also accumulates smegma) you can teach a boy to as well. Men ARE capable of practicing basic hygiene - especially when it consists of playing with your genitals in the shower.” -Joel Smart

Introducing Amrita Waterfalls...

Hello, Beautiful!

My name is Cassendre Xavier and I'm an award-winning multi-media artist and community arts leader who sometimes uses pseudonyms to express various parts of my self and my art/work.
Cassendre Xavier is my legal, birth, writing, and performance name. You will find this name on my musical recordings and all of my published writing.
Amethyste Rah is my self-assigned spiritual name, which I use when recording guided meditation albums.
Amrita Waterfalls is a name I use when writing about sexuality. The word "amrita" is Sanskrit for nectar or ambrosia, and is used among those who study and practice female ejaculation to describe that fluid.
I created this persona initially for online personals (during the screening stage), and then I became more involved in promoting the sexual freedom I practice.
For years, I have admired the work of sex-positive artists & activists Betty Dodson, Annie Sprinkle, Nina Hartley, Barbara Carrellas, Tee Corinne, and more recently those of a younger generation including Tristan Taormino and Carlin Ross.
